Former US special envoy Putin doesn’t care how many Russians he kills in war

According to Kurt Volker, peace negotiations are impossible in the near future due to the Kremlin’s location. The Ukrainian army will continue to drive the invaders from its territory, and only after the victory can a dialogue begin.

To date, there is still no possibility of starting real peace negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, and this is due to the position of the Kremlin and its leader. This was expressed in an interview with RBC-Ukraine on May 24 by Kurt Volker, the former US Special Envoy to Ukraine.

According to him, an analysis of the behavior of Russian President Vladimir Putin shows that he does not intend to end the war in Ukraine in the near future, which means that the struggle continues.

“I think we all see that Vladimir Putin won’t stop fighting, look what he says, how he acts, what he does. He doesn’t care how many Russians he killed. The fight will go on,” the message says.

Real peace initiatives are not yet possible. The Ukrainian side will accept them only when a complete victory over the Russian troops in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberate all the territories up to the borders of the 1991 targets.

“Then, I think there might be a way to sign a peace treaty. But they must be defeated first,” Kurt Volker continued.

The former US Special Representative in Ukraine also noted that the Russian Federation has a chance to become a normal country, but there is still a long way to go. As Kurt Volker points out, for decades the people of the Russian Federation have been brainwashed and a culture of death and violence has been imposed, so you can’t get rid of it quickly.

“It takes a long time to change this. And the changes will begin with the defeat of the Russian troops. We must wish the Russian society to be peaceful and prosperous, that the Russians live within the borders of their own country and become good neighbors, ”the message states.

Recall, on May 23, it was reported to Zelensky that he was allowed to conclude a peace treaty with the Russian Federation, but on one condition. Advisor to the President of the Presidency, Mikhail Podolyak noted that the political system in the Kremlin must first change, and then dialogue can begin.
