September 27 a dinner with a very noble causein which the art of poetry was the point of inspiration.
El Heraldo de México reaffirmed its commitment to raising awareness of the fight against breast cancer by hosting a couples dinner hosted by the famous chefs Gabriela Guitron, Gabriela Ruiz and Paulina Abascal at the Zeru Lomas restaurant. Each dish of the evening was inspired by a poem from writer Maria Milo, who also delighted us with the recitation of her poems before each course, accompanied by piano and violin, performed by Gustavo E. Salas with a special musical composition for the occasion.
Maria Milo filled us with emotional moments with each poem that took us through the difficult path that women with this disease go through, and which the author was inspired by a personal experience with her grandmother. “We dance barefoot with the stars around smoking mugs. We drank life with chocolate, in which there was no lack of sugar…”, a small excerpt from the poems that we heard that evening and which undoubtedly touched our hearts.
In addition, four great dishes were served with each dish presented: an appetizer of fish carpaccio, pink sweet potato, jamaica, dry chili mayonnaise and avocado; the first dish of various mushrooms with mashed beans and fatty cheeses; second course with simmered josper ribs and honey and truffle brioches; and dessert with a pot of chocolate, raspberries, chocolate mousse and pink macaroons. All this in perfect combination with Casa Noble tequila and Ribera del Duero wines.
Tonight’s proceeds were donated in full to the Cima Foundation, supporting their work and women in the process.
