It is true that we had an age of transcendental attainment, but things happened in it that we thought were only in the past. In reporting this, we can see that the Internet has severely disconnected us from our human symbiosis.

Indeed, there have been thousands of benefits, but we have also begun to develop the pandemic that we had before COVID. This is called Depression and it has as its source a series of unfortunate emotions, thoughts and sensations. The first of these is loneliness. In a world surrounded by people; you have no one to talk to, your achievements, your misfortunes. This new form of isolation occurs when values are reversed, that is, things are loved and people are used. It is followed by the most terrible mortal sin, it is called envy, it is the one that basically harms the person who suffers from it, because it poisons his environment and corrodes his being, because instead of being involved in his own experience, he causes damage like the same. And it’s very common, it’s easy to spot when someone falsely criticizes another person’s effort or creativity without having done the work. Hence another paradox that accompanies envy; It is about selfishness, very common these days, when it should be shown or be sensitive, supportive or kind, being a gesture of self-interest and therefore illusory and short-lived.

Perception is deceptive. We move very often, but with the same temporality we move away from it. We confuse happiness with continuous pleasurable sensations, and this would certainly be very strange for most people who many years ago lived away from our current life of interdisciplinary progress and international connections that should fill us with joy. Because these people had a different vision of happiness; for fullness depended neither on the presence of continuous emotion, nor on the absence of suffering. Everything was part of the supplement that makes life perfect.

Today is Viktor Frankl’s book Man’s Search for Meaning. He is better known than in the 1980s, but much less understood. Not being who tells a person who has the truth about what he enjoyed, felt, suffered or saw. But with the enormous help of books and documentaries where his words describe him, I can only come close to what he teaches. This is a work in which he shows this despite the extreme suffering caused to him by other people and thousands of other people. Dr. Frankl finds his happiness in those moments of introspection when he thought about family and the simple enjoyment of human closeness. These were the forces that made him come out alive from that terrible event.

If you’re reading The Diary of Anne Frank, what makes you want to continue the story despite the catastrophe it describes is its tremendous optimism for love and understanding. The memory of being with family; He made the small room where he was hiding cease to be just by writing. Soul expansion is what made many past generations happy, but today it is lost, full of gaps.

Of course, Mandela did not think that an unjust imprisonment would bring him fame years later. It was a struggle that grew out of the inviolability of human freedom. He could die in the very first years of his imprisonment, and the world would not even know about it.

How about I tell you about Sixto Rodriguez. Have you heard of him? He inspired a whole world of resistance in South Africa, releasing only two albums “Cold Fact” (1970) and “Coming from Reality” (1971) since then. He found out about this until 1997, when some young people became interested in his story and went looking for him. Amazing story, so magical. The most incredible thing is that in his Detroit he remained a worker.

How can we find our ways?

A number of factors can help us feel life. Leave behind the idea that all our happiness depends on something happening. To think so is to want to control uncertainty, and no one can.

Let our body be aware of its sensations in this moment.

Listen carefully to us and, of course, to others. For later, build dialogues that feed our lives in the right way.

Stop thinking about the future because it creates anxiety and the past because it causes depression. It’s harder than it looks.

Expand yourself with different ideas in other areas of expertise to fuel your creativity.

To think that fame, networks, likes bring us happiness is like having a banquet full of delicious food, but plastic, there is no way to enjoy it.

Disunity and isolation are unbearable for the social community that we are. Therefore, despite the fact that we have thousands of opportunities for longer life, better work with less physical effort, better nutrition and more comfort. We are losing the battle with a clearly connected world, more aware of human rights, more educated, more, more and more. But in reality, he is less honest, less truthful, less human and, of course, less happy.
