Macroeconomics is the branch of economics that studies the relationship between money and government, through which the mechanisms of economic growth or contraction are established in accordance with the fundamental variables of the national economy and their handling on a global scale in accordance with the software. each government’s perspective to regulate or balance, respectively, fiscal and monetary policies, as well as national levels of investment and spending, making the government the main matrix for managing production, consumption, investment, and employment.

Keynes explained this by summarizing it in terms of managing the relationship between household consumption, business investment, government spending, and the exports and imports of the economy as a whole, which in their coordinated movement had consequences for energy levels, inflation, employment. and interest rates.

Together, these issues constitute what we can call the macroeconomic moment of society, and the possibility that the family economy can be maintained at an adequate level, that there is employment, good wages, controlled inflation, directly depends on its correct balance and management. , development and prosperity.

These days, the Chamber of Deputies is experiencing its macroeconomic moment, which, in fact, is its star moment, since it is the exclusive prerogative of this part of the bicameral assembly of the Congress of the Union, as it debates, changes and approves Federal law. Draft spending budget for 2023 sent by the federal executive as the main part of the fifth year of the López Obrador government.

For this year, a total net spending of 8 trillion 299 thousand 647 million 800 thousand pesos is proposed, which is 11.5% more than in the previous year’s budget, which is known to be divided into non-programme expenses (which are intended to meet government obligations, such as public debt or contributions to states and municipalities) and programmable (which is intended for the operation of government and the execution of projects).

Non-programmable expenses account for 28.2% of the total budget; which is already committed to paying off the national debt and federal contributions. Programmable accounts for 71.8% and is distributed across the following twelve strategic areas: education, culture and sports (16.4%), healthcare (5.5%), social security and health for beneficiaries (30.2%), work and well-being for all. (7%), rural support (1.8%), economic development and environment (3.9%), energy strengthening (19.6%), communications, transport and infrastructure (6.7%), public administration and providing wages (1.6%), coordinating attention to society (0.3%), security and peace (4.5%) and autonomous bodies (2.6%).
