The body of the LuAZ electric car will be supplied from China, but many Ukrainian components are used in the design. The pickup will receive a frame and a very durable battery.

The new LuAZ electric car became a real sensation in Ukraine, but later information appeared that the pickup truck is of Chinese origin. The initiator of the project, Vadim Ignatov, marked the letter “i” – he explained the details of the new model. Automatic center reports.

New LuAZ pickup truck – Ukrainian or Chinese?

Vadim Ignatov confirmed that the new LuAZ really has a Chinese body, because there is no way to manufacture it in Ukraine. It is noteworthy that it is used by many models with completely different “stuffing”.

In addition, significant changes were made to the design for the Ukrainian automaker. For example, LuAZ is based on a frame – it will be produced at the Lutsk company Pragmatec, which produces trailers. The carrying capacity of the double version of the electric car will be one ton.

The Ukrainian will also have wiring, headlights and heated seats. In the next stage of localization, they plan to start the production of glass, engine and suspension components in our country.

The car will receive bottom protection and a sealed battery compartment. The battery itself is also domestic production – it will be provided by the Odessa company EMGo Technology, which created the Scramper electric motorcycle.

LuAZ electric car, its characteristics

The 5 kW (6.8 hp) electric motor is mounted on the rear axle. However, the LuAZ electric car accelerates to 50 km / h.

A lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 5.4 kWh will provide a power reserve of 70-80 km. If desired, it will be possible to install up to four such batteries, which will allow you to drive up to 320 km. You can charge the battery in an hour and a half, and on service lines – 6000 charge-discharge cycles, or 16 years.
