Ferrari electric cars will have generators to simulate engine sounds

Ferrari electric cars will make their own distinctive sound to replace the hum of V8 and V12 engines. A patent for the related technology has already been registered.

Ferrari has confirmed rumors that the brand will switch to electric vehicles in the near future. The company figured out how to please fans of internal combustion engine cars. This was reported on the Bloomberg website.

Powerful V8 and V12 engines are strongly associated with Ferrari models. Therefore, it is difficult to imagine the absence of engine roar in future models of the brand.

To facilitate the transition of fans of the brand to electric vehicles, the company will install sound generators on new models. They will simulate the operation of V12 or V8 engines depending on the settings.

Ferrari has already registered a corresponding patent. Identifies a vehicle for amplifying sound from one or more electric motors in a vehicle and amplifying sound from the rear of the vehicle. A similar solution was presented by Dodge in the Charger Daytona SRT concept car.

Ferrari understands that the engine sounds of its supercars play an important role. CEO Benedetto Vigna shared that the brand’s electric models will have distinctive sounds.

Previously Focus German tuning studio DMC has reported that it has prepared a modification package for the yet-to-be-released Ferrari Purosangue crossover.
