Rivian will present a compact crossover and pickup truck: first details and photos

Rivian R2S and R2T models will be produced at the new factory in Georgia, USA. The innovations will take place under the larger and more expensive R1T pickup and R1S crossover in the brand’s lineup.

Rivian is working on two new compact models. The R2S electric crossover and R2T pickup truck will not hit the market before 2026. This was reported on the Carscoops portal.

Rivian now produces only two electric models – the R1T pickup and the R1S crossover. The company also commissioned Amazon to create delivery vans.

The new models based on the Rivian R2 platform will be manufactured at a new $5 billion factory in Georgia, USA. The facility is scheduled to open in 2024.

The upcoming Rivian R2 platform is designed for smaller and more affordable models. They’ll be featured in the brand’s lineup under the larger and more expensive R1T pickup and R1S crossover.

Carscoops designers predicted what the R2S and R2T would look like. The models will retain their recognizable design, but will become more sporty in appearance.

The new models will use an electric twin-motor drivetrain from the older Rivian R1T and R1S. Its power will be reduced for economical electric vehicles.

Rivian R2 models are expected to enter the US market in 2026. The new crossover and pick-up are also planned to be delivered to Europe and other global markets.

Previously Focus reports that the new Rivian R1S electric SUV is stranded on the beach.
