The Clubman model will be replaced by new crossovers. The car remains popular only among the most loyal fans of the brand.
British automaker MINI plans to stop production of the Clubman family model. The car lost its popularity and was replaced by crossovers. This was reported on the CarBuzz website.
MINI will launch the final Clubman in about a year. Most likely, the date of “farewell” to the model will be February 2024.
The fact that the brand plans to abandon the Clubman is also evident in the absence of a test prototype of the next-generation model. Fortunately, Countryman and Cooper will have successors.
Clubman sales figures did not satisfy BMW concern. Only 1,970 of these cars were sold in 2021. For comparison, 12,198 Countryman crossovers were sold during the same period.
Additionally, the upcoming Aceman EV will play a key role in phasing out Clubman production. Although the model will have more compact dimensions, it will offer more interior space due to the absence of an engine and transmission.
