Rare 72-year-old Jaguar coupe goes on sale (photo)

The car has low mileage and is well maintained. The coupe was equipped with seat belts and other additional equipment.

A rare 1951 Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe is up for auction on Bring a Trailer. Details about the car were explained on the auction house’s website.

This Jaguar XK120 is painted maroon. It is also equipped with Lucas headlights and front disc brakes.

The car went through cosmetic and mechanical repairs in 2002. All maintenance has been done and all fluids have been changed before the sale.

In accordance with the Jaguar Heritage Trust certification, the coupe was originally painted bronze. The car was later repainted.

It has a dark brown color inside and is made of leather and wood. The vehicle was fitted with a retractable storage tray and seat belts for both passengers.

Inside, there’s also a speedometer up to 140 mph and a reverse sweep tachometer, as well as an ammeter and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The odometer shows the distance of 25,750 km.

Under the hood is a 3.4-liter inline six-cylinder engine with 182 horsepower. It is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox.

Bidding for the car ends in four days. The maximum bid per lot is currently $30,000.
