With many models getting bigger and more comfortable with each generation, miniature cars seem like an endangered species. However, incredibly small cars are sometimes found in the auto industry. As a rule, they are inexpensive and not the most practical, but they can be served.

Such models cannot boast of a large trunk or a spacious interior. However, it is easy to manage and parking takes a few seconds.

The 10 smallest cars in the world:

10 Lumeneo Neoma

Issue year: 2013

  • height – 1480 mm.

The French city electric car Lumeneo Neoma was produced for only one year. Its main issue was its $28,900 price (excluding battery cost).

The car became a financial failure and was sold in a meager run of 10 copies. In 2013, the manufacturer declared bankruptcy.

The Lumeneo Neoma is equipped with a 48 hp electric motor. A 14.2 kWh battery provided a power reserve of 140 km.

9. Wuling Nano EV

The Wuling Nano EV starts at just $3,000 and offers a wealth of hardware. Currently, the base model has air conditioning, power windows, audio system and digital instrument cluster.

The car is designed for two seats and has a small trunk. It has a stunning design and is available in several versions.

The Wuling Nano EV is equipped with a 32 horsepower electric motor and a 28 kWh battery. The maximum speed is 100 km / h, and the declared range reaches 300 km.

8 Smart Fortwo

The legendary Smart Fortwo became famous for its compact dimensions and convenient layout. The model lasted 25 years on the assembly line. Smart Fortwo will be retired this year.

As the name suggests, the Smart Fortwo is designed for two seats. Thanks to the well thought-out design, there is very little space inside.

The engine is located at the rear, which frees up more room at the front. The model received many different modifications, offering the entire range of engines and equipment.

7. HMV Highway

Publication years: 1979 – 1982

Dimensions:

  • width – 1350 mm;
  • height – 1300 mm.

HMV Freeway is manufactured by High Mileage Vehicles of Burnsville, USA. A total of 700 copies were made from 1979 to 1982.

There is only one seat inside. There is also room for luggage.

The car was equipped with a four-stroke single-cylinder Tecumseh engine with a displacement of 453 cm3 and was paired with a belt drive continuously variable transmission.

6. REVAi G-Wiz

The compact Indian car REVAi G-Wiz was sold in 26 countries. The model offers two seats for adults and two additional rear seats for children.

In 2007, the hosts of the popular Top Gear show called the REVAi G-Wiz “the worst car of the year”. Despite this, the manufacturer managed to sell more than 4,000 units of this model.

Newer versions of the car were equipped with a 17 hp electric motor. The maximum speed is 80 km/h. The power reserve on a single charge is up to 120 km.

5 Kewet Buddy

The electric three-seat Kewet Buddy looks more like a toy than a real car. Despite this, it is serviceable and can travel up to 60 km on a single charge.

The body of the car is made of fiberglass. All other parts are made of rust resistant materials.

The Kewet Buddy is equipped with a 17 hp electric motor. The maximum speed is 80 km/h.

4. Messerschmitt KR200

Publication years: 1955 – 1964

The Messerschmitt KR200 tricycle was produced by a German aircraft manufacturer. In the 1950s, the company was temporarily banned from making airplanes, so they launched a new product.

The Messerschmitt KR200 is equipped with a 191 cc single-cylinder two-stroke 10 hp engine. The maximum speed is 79 km/h.

You had to tilt the cabin to get inside. The absence of a door allowed to reduce the weight to 230 kg.

3. BMW Isetta

When car enthusiasts hear the name of the BMW brand, they first imagine the company’s cult sports models or innovative electric vehicles. However, not everyone can think of a miniature Isseta model.

This car allowed BMW to cope with the post-war crisis and become an incredibly successful model. Back then the world needed ultra-cheap cars, and that was Isseta.

There is only one door in front, when opened, the steering wheel moves to the side to get inside. In total, the model offered two seats.

Under the hood is an 11 hp 245 cc single-cylinder engine. The maximum speed is 85 km/h.

2 Commuter Trolley Tango

Dimensions:

  • length – 2600 mm;
  • width – 990 mm;
  • height – 1520 mm.

It’s hard to see incredible technological innovation in this incredibly narrow car. Still, this is a true electric supercar with a unique design.

The top version of the Commuter Cars Tango T600 is equipped with four electric motors with a total torque of 1400 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h.

According to Commuter Cars, the Tango is the safest car in the world, although there is no confirmed information. However, it is a fact that a roll cage built to NASCAR specifications is installed inside.

1 Peel P50

Publication years: 1963 – 1964

Dimensions:

  • length – 1340 mm;
  • width – 990 mm;
  • height – 1200 mm.

The extraordinary Peel P50 holds the title of the world’s smallest car. It has only three wheels, a side door and a headlight.

The original model was produced only from 1963 to 1964, but gained such popularity that another company resumed production in 2010.

The Peel P50 is equipped with a 49cc 4.2hp motorcycle engine. It is paired with a 3-speed manual transmission without reverse gear.

A lever is attached to the rear to turn the trolley. It only weighs 59 kg, so the driver just has to go out and independently steer the car in the right direction.

The Peel P50 is now available with a petrol engine or an electric motor. The DIY kit starts at $12,600, and the fully assembled model will cost $16,970.
