The electric car Citroen Ami could not pass a sharp corner and crashed on its side. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident as the vehicle could not accelerate to high speed.
An interesting accident happened in Monaco. A miniature electric car Citroen Ami turned sharply on its side near the famous “Grand Hotel”. A video of the accident was published on the Benelux supercars Youtube channel.
It is this street that is part of the Formula 1 circuit where the famous Monaco Grand Prix took place. What’s more, the steep 180-degree turn is perhaps the most famous in racing—it’s called a U-turn around a palm tree.
The driver of a compact Citroen Ami has decided to make this comeback in racing car style. It coped with the turn for the first time, but on the way back, body roll turned out to be critical and the electric car crashed onto its side.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident and the Citroen Ami electric car was not badly damaged. The car could have been swept to the curb, but pedestrians were saved by parking poles.
Also, the speed of the car was slow. The fact is that the Citroen Ami electric car is equipped with a modest 8-horsepower engine and accelerates to only 45 km / h. In many European countries such a low-powered car can be driven without a license.
The new Citroen Ami with a plastic body is the cheapest electric car of the French brand – its cost is 7,000 euros. By the way, there is such a car in Ukraine.
