Hyundai has unveiled an innovative project that integrates the suspension, engine, brakes and steering

Hyundai is working on the future of mobility from the smallest aspect to the most important. An innovative micro-level transport solution was born from the “e-corner module”, a modular corner system that can be classified as “all in one” since it includes the braking system, electric motor, steering and suspension. in your single block.

The model of the Asian manufacturer is able to rotate up to 90 degrees, which allows you to move in any direction. In addition, this function makes it possible to move people to congested urban areas or to small places.

This Hyundai Mobis “Electronic Corner Module” was unveiled at the 2018 CES Las Vegas as a prototype, but now it’s a reality.

A press release released by Hyundai says the prototype successfully combines steering, braking, suspension and drive systems on each wheel.

This is all a big step as the corner modules (wheel system) are currently in the testing phase where research is being done to see how viable this system will be.

This module is expected to enter the market in 2023 with a dedicated modular platform for electric vehicles, and if the system that combines multiple functions in one place proves successful, the next step will be taken in 2025: autonomous driving.

By incorporating the steering and braking systems inside, Hyundai has completely eliminated the mechanical linkage between the systems that control each to perform its function.

The steering column is also forgotten thanks to the all-in-one element. This allows the interior of the Hyundai Mobis “Electronic Corner Module” to be modified as desired to provide more comfort and space.
