Classics in a new way: The famous British model will be revived in electric car format (photo)

The new Morris JE will be offered in pickup truck, minivan and pickup truck body types. The power reserve of the electric car will be about 400 km.

The famous British brand Morris is back. The revived company will begin producing electric vehicles from 2024, with its first child being the Morris JE minivan. This was reported on the official website of Morris Commercial.

The new Morris JE is a modern electric version of the J-Type produced from 1949 to 1961. The van exactly repeats the famous ancestor in design – it has a characteristic silhouette, round headlights and the same radiator grille.

In the cabin, the retro style is combined with modern screens. The two-seater electric van has 6.5 cu. m and its carrying capacity is 1 ton. A passenger van and a Morris pickup will follow.

The features of Morris JE are only partially classified. The power and capacity of the battery were not disclosed, but the power reserve is known to be around 400 km. It will be possible to charge the battery to 80% in half an hour in fast mode.

We plan to produce 1000 Morris JEs annually. It will be possible to buy an electric car for a price of 60,000 pounds ($72,800).

Previously Focus It reported that China has started production of low-cost commercial electric vehicles based on the old Ford Transit.

We also wrote that the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter electric car was presented.
