Toyota introduced an unusual version of the Supra sports car, designed for children participating in drag races. This was reported on the Top Gear website.
Toyota teamed up with the North American racing division TRD USA to create the GR Supra Jr Roadster, a children’s race car. This is the mini version of the original 11,000 hp GR Supra Funny Car.
The children’s dragster, in addition to its dimensions, differs from the “adult” version in that it is a convertible. They got rid of the roof to make it easier to get in.
The power of the GR Supra Jr Roadster is noticeably lower than that of the GR Supra Funny Car. However, you can buy it for just $13,995.
The engine is supplied separately for the dragster. Its power can vary from 5 to 50 hp.
The Toyota GR Supra Jr Roadster is eligible to race in the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League for Kids. This is the first car of this type from a major automaker.
