American military SUV turned into an all-terrain vehicle for the toughest conditions (photo)

The military SUV has received many improvements that make it a unique vehicle. Almost all parts of the car were replaced, including the engine and suspension.

1941 Dodge WC26 Wagon military SUV converted into an all-terrain vehicle with massive wheels. This was reported on the Autoevolution website.

The Dodge WC26 Wagon was actively used during the Second World War. Most of the remaining cars were sold to civilians and have become collectibles in modern times.

This SUV was originally owned by the US Army, then sold to a private person. The current owner decided to turn the car into an unusual all-terrain vehicle.

They decided to keep the original chassis, but most of the car was modernized. The SUV received a new engine, body parts and chassis elements.

During assembly, the body was removed from the chassis and sandblasted to remove paint, rust and contamination from the metal. The three-quarter-ton frame was also stripped and painted.

The body of the Dodge WC26 Wagon is covered with a special paint “Patina” that mimics the effect of rust. The owner wanted to give the SUV a unique look.

A panoramic sunroof from the new BMW X7 crossover appeared on the roof. The front grille is original.

Original six-cylinder petrol engine with 94 hp. It was replaced by a 5.9-liter 24-valve Cummins turbodiesel. It works in conjunction with an automatic transmission.

The new suspension front and rear provided a significant increase in ground clearance. The SUV now rides on 22-inch Detroit Steel “D-Town” wheels wrapped in massive 42-inch Milestar Patagonia M/T-02 tires.

The interior, as well as the body, is made in the color “Patina”. The look is complemented by a metal edging in some details.

The owner shared that tens of thousands of dollars were spent on upgrading the SUV. However, while he will not sell his private car.
