In May, 5.1 thousand new cars were sold in Ukraine. This is approximately at the level of April indicators, but almost double that of May 2022. Such statistics are provided by the association “Ukravtoprom”.
Such a high growth is due to the fact that in May last year the Ukrainian automobile market just started to recover under war conditions and automobile sales were at a low level. However, the current figures are just 39% lower than in May 2021.
The leaders of the Ukrainian car market remained the same. Toyota took the first place with 861 sales, and Renault took the second place with 501 units.
Volkswagen moved up to third place with 446 sales. TOP-5 was closed by Hyundai (347 cars) and BMW (344 units).
The most popular car in Ukraine is still Renault Duster. In May, the crossover found 472 buyers.
In total, during the 5 months of 2023, 21.5 thousand new cars were sold in Ukraine, which is 44% more than in the same period last year.
