A collection of vintage cars was put up for auction in Broad Arrow, USA. 16 models produced from 1920 to 1974 will go under the hammer. Details were announced on the auction website.
The retro car was collected by South Carolina collector Gregory Neck. The total cost of the cars exceeds 7 million dollars. Most cars were produced in the first half of the twentieth century.
The most expensive of the collection is the elegantly bodied 1938 Delahaye 135 MS from the Figoni et Falaschi studio. It was estimated at $1.3-1.6 million.
Also valuable is a 1938 convertible Mercedes 540K, produced specifically for Swedish Olympic champion Max Gumpel. The estimated cost of the 195 horsepower sports car is 1.25-1.45 million dollars.
A luxurious 1929 Bugatti Type 46 convertible and a rare 1927 Isotta-Fraschini Tipo 8A phaeton with a 7.3-liter 145-horsepower eight engine are valued at more than a million dollars.
Also on sale are a pair of luxury convertible Rolls-Royce Phantoms, vintage Chryslers, Lincolns and Stutzs. There are even a few affordable Ford T’s from the 1920s. The newest car in the collection is the 1974 model Volkswagen Type 181 SUV.
