Consumer Reports, an American publication specializing in consumer research, has published a new car quality rating. This time, experts have identified the best electric cars of 2024.
Consumer Reports does not change its research methodology. As before, experts interview car owners and conduct tests. Of the 50 tested electric cars, only 14 models received recommendations. Among them are both series and premium electric cars of 2024, and the top-earning models are from the Hyundai-Kia concern.
The absolute winner of the ranking was the Kia EV9 electric crossover, which received 98 points out of 100. The BMW iX took second place, winning in the premium electric crossover segment.
Best premium electric crossovers of 2024:
- BMW iX – 84 points.
- Genesis GV60-75.
- Lexus RZ-74.
- Audi Q4 e-tron – 71.
- Audi Q8 e-tron – 70.
The leader among mass-market electric crossovers was the Kia EV6, ahead of the Tesla Model Y.
Best electric crossovers of 2024:
- Kia EV6 – 77 points.
- Tesla Model Y – 72.
- Kia Niro Electric – 71.
- Nissan Ariya-70.
- Ford Mustang Mach-E – 70.
Among mass-produced electric passenger cars, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 (83 points) attracted attention, while among premium cars, the BMW i4 (83 points) and Porsche Taycan (76 points) were included.
By the way, the best electric crossovers were recently determined in Europe, and this rating differs significantly from the American one.
