Tlaxcala will host the 2023 Beach Volleyball World Cup.

Governor Lorraine Cuellar Cisneros announced that the organization will host the 2023 Beach Volleyball World Championship, the sporting event of which will take place next October in agreement with the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (Conade), the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), Volleyball World and Mexican Volleyball Federation (FMVB ).

In turn, the FIVB Director General, Fabio Azevedo He said that this event, which will be held in Tlaxcala next year, is the most important in the world, since in 2015 it was in Holland, in 2017 in Vienna, Austria, in 2018 in Hamburg, Germany, in 2022 in Italy, Rome and next year the eyes of millions of people from all over the world will be riveted to the object, so he hopes that it will become an inspiration for children and athletes.

The sport is the seventh most played in the world, which is a source of pride as Latin America will host the 14th edition of this tournament for the first time, specifically in Tlaxcala, Mexico, thanks to the success achieved in March of this year, in addition to the fact that the winners will directly qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

It is worth noting that this grand event will take place in four competition arenas, which will be installed in the Apizaco, Huamantla and Tlaxcala bullrings, in the latter, another arena will also be installed on the esplanade in front of the Tlaxcala Art Museum. (MAT), which will be attended by 96 teams with 192 athletes.

The event was also attended by the head of the Sports Institute of Tlaxcala (IDET), Madai Pérez Carillo; the presidents of the municipalities of Tlaxcala, Apisaco and Huamantla, Jorge Corici Fragoso, Pablo Badillo Sánchez and Juan Salvador Santos Zedillo, respectively, as well as deputies, local deputies, government officials and other special guests.
