Operation against highly pathogenic avian influenza completed in agriculture

He stressed that the outbreaks of avian influenza identified in April last year in the Laguna area were a sensitive issue, as the area an important part of genetics and breeding stock is concentrated poultry industry in the country.

He added that the operation included the liquidation 2.4 million birds but managed to save the production capacity of the poultry industry not only in the region, but throughout the country, which guarantees the supply of chickens and eggs to the national and export markets.

Similarly, after 16 weeks, Senasica lifted the quarantine measures applied to both states, which means the removal of quarantine from 45 production units that have successfully met the requirements. animal health regulations founded.

During the operation, it was found 58 positive cases for AI H7N3 virus, of which 51 were commercial farms and seven household plots. All anti-epidemic measures were controlled by the official staff of Senasiki.

As a result of epidemiological surveillance, carried out through official virological monitoring conducted weekly on 100 percent of poultry farms in the region, 4,185 examinations were carried out in the field and a total of 80,025 samples were processed in the official laboratories of Senasiki from April to August 2022.
