The industrial sector of the country considers far estimate of gross domestic product (GDP) growth 3 percent for the country in 2023 because they see the economy growing at less than 2 percent.
Joseph Abugaber, The President of the Confederation of Chambers of Industry of the United Mexican States (Concamine) noted that the Economic Package for 2023, presented on Thursday by the Ministry of Finance, contains a realistic and balanced blueprint, but also offers areas of opportunity.
As part of the Canacar 2022 National Convention, an industry spokesperson noted that the federal government should encourage companies to grow.
“Big jobs should go back to the construction sector and not be sent to Sedena as has been done in this administration. The manufacturing industry is growing more than the industry as a whole because the construction sector is not getting jobs, so we are calling for the return of the entire chain to stimulate economic growth,” he explained.
Another aspect the country needs to work on, he said, is closing the gap between informal and formal work, as according to Inegi, of the 56 million Mexicans employed in the country, more than 30 million are in the informal, “the formal needs to be encouraged jobs,” he said.
