Situations related to a possible shortage of funds in the regions to support mobilized citizens will be resolved jointly with the federal center. This was announced at a briefing on October 5 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Earlier, the governor of the Omsk region Alexander Burkov said that the region is looking for mechanisms to resolve the issue with a lump sum payment to citizens called up as part of partial mobilization. According to Peskov, these payments are additional costs that fall on the shoulders of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
“There is a big burden on regional budgets. Now there is an additional burden. Some have reserves of safety, some have minimal or no reserves. Therefore, such situations may arise, but in cooperation with the federal center, this will all be resolved”Peskov explained.
