Peskov said that many Russian assets were stolen by the West

Many Russian assets, including gold and foreign exchange reserves, were stolen by the countries of the collective West. This statement was made at a briefing by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

“A lot of assets are now actually just stolen by specific countries that belong to what we call the collective West. Including our gold reserves, gold and foreign exchange reserves”– said Peskov.

He added that the actions of the West in relation to Russian assets are illegal and contrary to international law. In fact, according to Peskov, the theft of assets is an encroachment on private and state property.

Recall that a few days ago, the leaders of the European Union instructed the European Commission to prepare proposals on how to use the frozen Russian assets.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin called hundreds of billions of dollars frozen by the West from Russia’s gold and foreign exchange fund a theft. He noted that the West is trying to “intimidate” the Russians, but hurts itself.

After all, it is in European countries that after the introduction of various restrictions on Russia, a record increase in prices for energy, food and fuel has been recorded.
