Prykarpattyaoblenergo also talked about the reasons for changing the shutdown schedule during the day and without warning – it all depends on the current state of the power system.
From 21 to 28 November, Prykarpattyeoblenergo sent messages to residents of the Nadvirnyansky neighborhood in the Ivano-Frankivsk region that there was a power outage for a week. However, according to Galicia’s local edition, the operator later reported a software bug and incorrect SMS messages being sent to users.
The press service of the company said, “Please do not trust this SMS! It was sent by mistake, the information in it does not match the truth.”
Why is electricity cut off without warning?
At the same time, Prykarpattyeoblenergo explained why shutdown schedules can change during the day and without warning. The fact is that NPC Ukrenergo every evening analyzes the indicators of electricity consumption in the energy system and provides data on the size of the load that needs to be removed from the networks. However, each clock has its own interrupt queues, as a different load is foreseen for each clock.
Moreover, during the day the situation in the electrical system can become more complex due to the heavy use of cooling and electric heaters by customers, and it is impossible to predict all conditions. When Ukrenergo realizes that the lifted load is not sufficient, employees call regional energy dispatchers to indicate where and what load to lift to avoid long interruptions.
