Putin announced the reduction of poverty in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin noted a decrease in poverty in our country and a 27.8% increase in the income of people with the lowest wages. The head of state made such statements on December 15 at a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects.

According to him, in the third quarter of 2022, the poverty rate fell to 10.5%. Putin called the dynamics small, but correct.

“Incomes of the poorest part of the population grew by 27.8% in nominal terms”, – the leader of the country noted, adding that thanks to this, it was possible to slightly reduce the level of inequality.

Today, we recall, Putin also predicted a decline in gross domestic product by 2.5% for the outgoing year and announced new economic decisions against the backdrop of tectonic changes.

At the end of November, the head of state also called for the wages of public sector workers to be indexed in January next year and outlined the reduction of poverty and inequality in Russia as a priority.
