In the United States, a record daily drop in natural gas production was recorded in more than a decade due to the “winter storm” that covered the country, reported Bloomberg.

Shipments in the 48 continental states were down nearly 10 billion cubic feet, or 10%, from the previous day, according to BloombergNEF. The reason was the drop in temperature in the mining states below zero.

At the same time, domestic demand hit a four-year high. The publication expects that gas supplies may soon begin to recover, but are still significantly below the norm.

This week in a large part of the United States it has become sharply colder, snowfall and strong gusts of wind have begun. Temperatures have broken sub-zero records in many states. In Wyoming, the temperature dropped to minus 41 degrees. In total, more than 200 million Americans were affected by the weather.
