All financial institutions during the holiday must ensure smooth operation of ATMs, replenish them with cash of various denominations for customer service.
On Saturday, January 7, 2023, some Ukrainians will celebrate Christmas according to the Julian calendar. The NBU press service reported that in connection with the holiday in Ukraine, banks will not work on this day.
At the same time, financial institutions must ensure the uninterrupted operation of ATMs, replenish them with cash of various denominations for customer service. But January 6 Banks will have full working days.
Previously, the Central Bank decided on the rules for the operation of the banking system and the operation of the Electronic Payment System (EPS) at the end of 2022 and at the beginning of 2023.
In the statement, it was stated that “January 7, January 8, 2023, interbank payment transactions via EPS will be carried out on January 9, 2023 bank day.”
NBU launches Power Banking network
Ukraine’s systemic banks have merged and created a common banking network that will work in critical situations, for example, during a possible power outage. The branches of 14 banks currently included in the network have advanced cash collection and additional personnel equipped with alternative energy sources and backup communication channels.
