Kyiv authorities cannot estimate the number of attacks on the Russian Armed Forces by missiles or Iranian drones. Residents are advised to consume electricity wisely and to use “invincibility points” in emergencies.
Kyiv authorities are preparing for possible negative scenarios in the event of prolonged emergency power outages and hope to work “invincibility points”. This was expressed by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KGVA), Sergei Popko, in an interview with TSN on January 10.
In Kiev and the whole of Ukraine, electricity consumption is increasing due to the frost and businesses starting to operate after the holidays. The head of KGVA reminded that there are consumption limits in all regions to ensure balance in the energy system.
“Kyiv is an integral part of the country’s energy system and complies with the consumption limits imposed on it. We urge residents of the capital to consume electricity reasonably and responsibly.”
As Popko noted, it was possible to deploy 482 fixed “points of invincibility” and more than 60 points of the State Emergency Service in Kiev. In the capital, an “indestructible town” was opened on the territory of “Darynka” the day before, which can accommodate more than 1,000 people.
According to Popko, the town has recreation places, a Starlink center, and separate areas for learning and teaching.
“There are places for children to have fun. There is even a separate area for walking pets. In case of a power outage, the town will operate autonomously – 7 generators with a total capacity of 2 MW provide continuous operation and communication. It works thanks to 7 Starlink terminals,” he said.
The primary task of the capital’s authorities is to provide heat, water and electricity to hospitals and hospitals. He said these facilities are supplied with generators and sufficient fuel for autonomous operation.
The Ukrainian air defense forces, as Popko says, foil the plans of the enemy troops to leave the city without electricity, heat and water. They use NASAMS, IRIS-T, Crotale anti-aircraft missile systems, Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns and other systems to counter the RF Armed Forces.
Giving an example, Popko said, “The best proof of this is the recent attack by the witnesses, where the air defense forces destroyed 32 of 32 enemy drones.”
The head of the military administration of the capital came to the conclusion that it is almost impossible to estimate the number of attacks by missiles or Iranian Shahed UAVs.
Recall that Ukrainian energy engineers are now working to launch a new power supply scheme for Kyiv. According to the plan, the water supply and heating systems will always be with production.
On January 4, the Ministry of Agricultural Policy predicted an increase in food prices due to continuous power cuts and heavy generator use.
Ukrainian ISPs have previously received 172 SBL batteries to keep them running during power outages.
