Kyiv City State Administration said whether Kiev is ready for a large-scale blueout

According to the deputy head of the administration, Nikolai Povoroznik, city officials are even considering the scenario of water discharge from the heating system of apartment buildings.

Repair teams are plotting new routes for the supply of electricity after the Russian Armed Forces’ missile attacks, and authorities are prepared for worst-case scenarios, including a power outage in Kiev. This was announced on January 11 in an interview with TSN by Nikolai Povoroznik, deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration.

For him, unconsciousness is no longer such a scary word as it used to be. Povoroznik reminded that after one of the latest attacks of the Russian Armed Forces, the Ukrainian capital was without power for several days, and therefore the authorities were prepared for the worst-case scenario.

As the deputy head of the administration noted, the task number 1 of the KSCA is to ensure the functioning of water and heat supply, the operation of public transport and the provision of medical services to the population.

Separately, Povoroznik said that after the bombardment, repair teams not only repaired the damage quickly, but also laid new roads to supply electricity. The deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration does not exclude that the situation may worsen after the new arrivals, but the authorities will try to ensure the supply of water and heat for consumers at home.

The day before, on January 10, DTEK warned that power cuts in Kiev could be prolonged. Due to adverse weather conditions and rising consumption levels, Ukrainians may turn off their electricity during the hours marked in light gray on the charts.
