DTEK explained why the amount in the electricity bill may increase

Yasno CEO talked about what factors are affecting the increase in the amount of payments of Ukrainians despite the constant cuts.

DTEK explained why the amounts in electricity bills could grow. Sergey Kovalenko, CEO of Yasno, a member of DTEK Group, wrote this on his Facebook page.

According to Kovalenko, the main reason for the increase in payments is excessive use of electricity after the resumption of supply.

“When the light is on, everything in the outlets turns on – phone chargers, power banks, boilers, washing machines, vacuum cleaners. There is a sharp increase in consumption,” says Yasno CEO.

Kovalenko added that such a load could cause an accident or compensate for the amount of electricity saved during the blackout.

Thus, in a month, the user received as much electricity as before.

Another reason for the increase in amounts in receipts is the incorrect or untimely transmission of meter readings by Sergei Kovalenko.

If the customer does not provide timely or accurate readings, the amount of electricity consumed is determined by the average daily consumption. It is calculated based on the readings recorded in the past periods.

“Therefore, the amount on the bill may be higher than usual. Even if consumption has decreased throughout the month due to a power outage,” explains Yasno CEO.

Kovalenko added that it is important to use electricity wisely, to transmit readings in a timely manner and to regularly pay for the volume consumed.
