The Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office reported the suspicions to another Russian captain. The press service of the Ministry announced this on its social networks.
It was determined that the suspect entered the closed Sevastopol port 3 times in 2022. There, the ships are loaded with looted Ukrainian grain. The captain tried to cover up the crime by fooling the automatic identification system. Periodically turned off “AIS” or entered phantom data into it.
Prosecutors identify everyone involved in the illegal loot export scheme. The suspected captain of Nadezhda faces up to five years in prison.
Suspicions were also reported to the occupying Minister of “Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea”, the director of the company that owns the ships, and the 5 captains of the ships. All are suspected of being involved in the export of grain stolen from the occupied peninsula.
