Polish authorities are ready to pay pensions to older Ukrainians through international transfers between the country and Ukrposhta. The only obstacle to obtaining a pension is the need for regulatory regulation.
With the outbreak of a full-scale war with the Russian Federation, many Ukrainians left the country for the sake of safety by going abroad. Most of our citizens remained in Poland, but some of them cannot use Ukrainian pensions in the country. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Integration.
According to department head Irina Vereshchuk, this issue is currently being resolved in the Ukrainian government.
“Most of the elderly who go to Poland are not yet able to use the Ukrainian pension. We are looking for ways to continue to pay Ukrainian pensions to our citizens abroad,” he said.
It is noted that there is a technical possibility to arrange a technical transfer of Ukrainian pensions to Poland. At the same time, the Polish authorities are ready to pay pensions to older Ukrainians in cash through international transfers between the country and Ukrposhta. In addition, Ukrainian citizens will be able to send the necessary documents for their pensions by Polish post directly to the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU).
The only obstacle to obtaining a pension is the need for regulation. As Irina Vereshchuk emphasized, the relevant draft law has already been developed, but the document has not yet been finalized and agreed upon. Only after that the bill will be submitted for adoption by the Verkhovna Rada.
By the way, in Ukraine, as part of the reform of the pension system, they plan to introduce mandatory retirement savings for all Ukrainians as early as 2024. In early January, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the essence of the new pension reform is that all working Ukrainians will have their own retirement savings accounts. They will be filled from three sources:
- employers’ contribution;
- the state’s contribution to equality with the employer;
- voluntary contributions of citizens.
Previously Focus He said which of the Ukrainians can cancel their pension payments. The relevant bill has already been developed by the government.
We also remember that the American aid organization 1K will support Ukrainian families affected by the all-out Russian invasion. Thus, the organization will pay the Ukrainians 1 thousand dollars.
