Pensions under supervision: A large-scale check will be carried out on the legality of payments in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine will check the relevance of personal data of pensioners, which affects the amount of monthly cash payments. This is stated in the draft law published on the website of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine (FTU).

According to the text of the draft “On Approving the Methodology for Validation of Pension Payments and Monthly Lifetime Care”, the data will be verified in several stages:

• compliance with the requirements for the exchange of information on the personal data of pensioners;
• To what extent the available information regarding the personal data in the Pension Fund is true;
• whether the accrual of monetary payments and monthly lifetime allowances to certain Ukrainians is legal.

It was noted that the Ministry of Finance will check some parameters received from the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) with the real situation. Comparison will be based on data from each buyer and/or their legal representative.

Since the accrual of pensions in Ukraine does not depend on one, but on several, experts will pay special attention to the following facts:

• Death of a pensioner according to the data of the State Register of Civil Status of Citizens;
• disability group, category, period of diagnosis, according to the information of the central database on disability problems;
• permanent residence abroad, the decision of a person to stay for a long time in another country or return to Ukraine, according to the data of the Unified State Demographic Register.

Indexing of pensions from March 1: to whom the payments will be recalculated

The increase in payments will affect the most vulnerable categories of paid Ukrainians:

• by disability;
• by age;
• by seniority:
• on the loss of a livelihood.

The amount of minimum insurance payments will also be recalculated. This applies to:

• Disabled Chernobyl
• Liquidators of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
