“There is no shortage”: the night attack did not affect the situation in Ukraine’s energy system, – Ukrenergo

Ukraine is still far from winning on the energy front and it’s too early for consumers to slack off, according to Vladimir Kudrytsky, the company’s chairman of the board. But time is in the business of the Ukrainian energy system.

The Russian rocket attack on the night of February 15-16 did not change the situation in the energy system of Ukraine. There is currently no shortage of capacity in the state. Volodymyr Kudrytsky, chairman of the board of the National Energy Company Ukrenergo, said this at a briefing in Kiev, a reporter reported. Focus.

According to the head of the company, there has been almost no power outage in Ukraine in recent days, as there is sufficient generation capacity in the energy system. As a result, the operator did not impose a consumption limit on the regions.

However, the situation remains difficult in the Kiev and Odessa regions, so there are still network restrictions on power consumption.

“This is because broken grids currently being actively restored cannot exceed 100% of electricity volume to meet 100% of consumption,” Kudritsky said.

The head of the company emphasized that although the situation in the country in general has improved significantly, it is still too early for Ukrainians to relax.

“The situation is still far from being fully stable. It is still too early to relax. Our victory on the energy front is still ahead.”

Kudritsky noted that the threat of another rocket attack on the Russian Federation continues in the country. But the February 16 attack did not worsen the situation.

Ukrainian energy system: weather factor

Favorable weather conditions became one of the reasons for the improvement of the situation in the energy system. The absence of severe frosts allowed consumption to decrease.

As Kudrytsky emphasized, the approach of spring also positively affects the situation in the Ukrainian energy sector.

“Winter is coming to an end. In a month and a half we will talk about getting out of the heating season,” he recalls.

If Ukraine manages to avoid serious damage to the energy system due to new bombardment during this period, the situation will remain stable.

To improve electricity supply to consumers, Ukrenergo needs to eliminate in the near future all the so-called bottlenecks in the electricity grid that currently affect power outages.

Recall, on February 15, YASNO CEO Serhiy Kovalenko said that Ukrenergo has managed to restore a significant number of production capacities in the country. All nuclear, hydro and thermal power plants are now operating in the country.

The previous day, on February 14, the head of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky said that there is no shortage of electricity in Ukraine, so consumption limits are not imposed on the regions. But there are also areas where the situation is worse due to the destruction of electricity grids.
