Worked for more than 10 years: Kazakhstan liquidated its trade representation in Russia

In 1992, an agreement was signed between Kazakhstan and Russia on the establishment of trade missions, and in 2009 a Kazakhstan representative office was opened in Moscow.

The trade representation of Kazakhstan is closed in Russia. The relevant decision was made by the Kazakh government on February 1, 2023. According to the government’s website, the decision to liquidate the body has already been accepted by the country’s leadership.

The resolution says that Kazakhstan completely abolishes the position of a trade representative in Russia, the staff of the representative office and the wages of these employees.

The government announced this decision by the fact that the representative office has already completed all the tasks. They also stressed that this decision will not affect the functioning of the Russian trade mission in Kazakhstan.

Note that the agreement on the establishment of trade missions between Kazakhstan and Russia was signed in 1992. A representative office of Kazakhstan was opened in Moscow in 2009.
