From the New Year, payments per child in Poland will increase by PLN 300 (more than 2,500 UAH). The allowance can be received by both Poles and foreigners legally present in the country.
Child benefits in Poland will increase from PLN 500 (UAH 4,430) to PLN 800 (over UAH 7,000) per month. The changes are scheduled for January 1, 2024. This was expressed by Yaroslav Kaczynski, head of the ruling party in Poland, writes local newspaper GK24.
We are talking about the “Family 500+” program, available for both Poles and foreigners legally residing in Poland. It is noteworthy that the name of the program will not change after changing the payment amount from 500 PLN to 800 PLN. Conditions will remain the same.
“Family 500+”: how does the support program for families with children work?
You can apply for the Family 500+ program online. To do this, you need to download the application of the Polish social insurance institution ZUS to your smartphone and fill out an electronic form, following the instructions.
The application must be accompanied by a document confirming the legality of staying in the country. It could be:
- a residence card marked “access to the job market”;
- PESEL number;
- type of permanent residence;
- decision to grant refugee status
The money is paid monthly for each child. You must also notify ZUS of your plans if you leave the country.
Recall, on March 8, the media reported that more than 2 million zlotys were paid to Ukrainian refugees in Poland, about 450 thousand dollars. This means that people receive these payments after they return to Ukraine.
Since January 18, a financial support program has been launched for Ukrainian refugees in Poland, in which people will be paid 6,000 hryvnia for three months. It turns out that in general you can get 18 thousand hryvnia.
