The Central Bank extended restrictions on the withdrawal of foreign currency for another six months

The Bank of Russia announced the extension of restrictions on foreign currency cash withdrawals until March 9, 2024 due to sanctions. This information appeared on website Central Bank of Russia.

“The Bank of Russia maintains restrictions on cash currency in connection with the sanctions in force against our country,” – the message says.

It is noted that citizens whose foreign currency account or deposit was opened before March 9, 2022, have a limit on currency withdrawals in the amount of the balance of funds at 00:00 Moscow time on the specified date. But not more than 10 thousand US dollars or the equivalent amount in euros, provided that they have not previously used this opportunity.

Earlier, the Central Bank of Russia announced that from September 14 to September 22, 2023 it will sell foreign currency for 150 billion rubles – 21.4 billion rubles a day.
