The pension of military personnel disabled during the war may increase to 15 thousand hryvnia in 2024.
Ukraine provides pensions to disabled people who have suffered as a result of conflict. The publication “On Retirement” writes about this.
Persons who have received a Group I disability are entitled to an age-related payment of 650% of the subsistence minimum for persons who have lost the ability to work. At the same time, taking into account all additional payments, the fee amount cannot be less than 13,604.50 hryvnia.
Pension of 15 thousand hryvnia – who can get it
In 2024, the size of the additional aid is expected to increase to 15,346.5 hryvnia, in parallel with the increase in the cost of living to 2,361 hryvnia.
Pensions for disabled people depend on several factors:
- disabled groups;
- percentage of the total age pension amount;
- The period from the onset of disability until the age of 60.
These parameters are taken into account when allocating an old-age pension. Military personnel disabled as a result of combat operations are entitled to 100% of the cash support amount. People with other disabilities can count on 70% of this amount.
Thus, the minimum pension for group I disabled military personnel will be 650% of the subsistence level of persons who have lost the ability to work, that is, 13,605 hryvnias.
Let us also remind you that in March 2024, the pensions of everyone whose payments need to be indexed according to the plan will be increased. However, the indexing itself will take place according to the new points system. It is assumed that after indexation the average pension in Ukraine will be 6 thousand hryvnia.
In addition, a document from the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine stated that it is known that the government plans to transfer pension payments in three stages in 2024. The first of these will take place on January 1.
