6 to 8 thousand hryvnia: New financial aid for children launched in Ukraine

According to the decision of the Council of Ministers, monthly targeted financial aid will be provided to children between the ages of 1-15.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has introduced targeted benefits to be paid to some children. The government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk announced this on the Telegram channel.

He announced that the Council of Ministers amended its decision No. 674 of August 3, 2020 “On additional social protection of certain categories of persons” and introduced targeted assistance to the children of deceased defenders and defenders of Ukraine.

Financial support will not only be provided to children whose parents died on the battlefield; Monthly payments will also be provided to the families of defenders who died from injuries or illnesses while participating in hostilities.

Payments will be allocated in the following cases:

  • the deceased breadwinner was not a member of the voluntary formations of regional communities;
  • The deceased did not have the necessary insurance experience to receive a pension for disability group III from 1 to 15 years.

Assistance will be provided to children over the age of 15. 1 to 15 years. smallest size The monthly payment will be as follows:

  • 7,800 hryvnia – if there is a child in the family,
  • 6,100 hryvnia – for each child if there are two or more children in the family.

At the same time, according to Acting Minister of Veterans Affairs Alexander Porkhun, children will begin to receive payments starting April 1, 2024.

“The Ministry of Veterans Affairs asked the Ministry of Social Policy to resolve the issue of allocation of payments related to the loss of the breadwinner to family members of the deceased. As a result, from April 1, children of deceased volunteers will receive targeted assistance in increased amounts,” he said.

Payments to be made to the families of martyred soldiers in 2024

The state will pay 15 million hryvnia to the families of the soldiers who died in 2024. The Military Special Protection Act states that financial assistance is provided to parents, an unremarried spouse, children under the age of majority, and dependents.

At the same time, the state will refuse to pay in cases of death or death:

  • the consequences of the criminal or administrative offense committed by the deceased;
  • the consequences of the deceased’s actions while intoxicated;
  • consequences of intentional harm, suicide.

Let us also remind you that they plan to pay up to 200 thousand hryvnia per month to military personnel fighting with the Russians on the front. People’s Deputy Ruslan Gorbenko explained how this idea could be implemented, taking into account the fact that there is a shortage of funds in the state budget. Meanwhile, one-time aid of 30 thousand hryvnia started to be given to mobilized citizens in Kiev.
