According to information received from Ukrenergo, stabilization shutdown programs across Ukraine will come into force after 15:00 on June 18.
On Tuesday, June 18, the lights will not be turned off in Ukraine until 15:00. National energy company Ukrenergo announced the reduction of restrictions on electricity consumption in all areas.
For this reason, programs between 10:00 – 15:00 have been canceled and after this time, light will be provided according to the programs determined by oblenergo.
The reason why there were no outages was that solar power plants were operating more actively.
Yasno CEO Sergei Kovalenko confirmed that restrictions have been adjusted.
“Closure schedules do not go into effect until 3 p.m.,” he wrote on Facebook.
Ukrenergo reminded that the main reason for the implementation of restrictive measures was the consequences of the last six Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian power plants.
“Due to the extensive damage, they cannot produce as much electricity as before these attacks. Imports and emergency aid from European countries are used to close the gap in the energy system. However, due to the extent of the damage, these measures are not sufficient. To maintain balance in the energy system, the company said in a statement.
Let us also remind you that Ukrenergo had previously announced that the lights would be turned off throughout the day in Ukraine on June 18.
Director of the Energy Research Center Alexander Kharchenko evaluated the current state of the Ukrainian energy system as 3 out of 12. He believes that the situation can be improved by returning control of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and commissioning two or three of its units.
