Gennady Ryabtsev noted that limiting energy supply led to “forced savings”. He assumes that on average the amount of bills will not differ much from the time when Ukrainians paid 2.64 UAH per kilowatt-hour.
Ukrainians will most likely pay the same amount for electricity in July as they did before the tariff increase. Gennady Ryabtsev, Director of Special Projects of the Scientific and Technical Center “Psyche”, predicts that the amount of electricity payments for the majority of the population will not change this month. He noted this in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine.
Ryabtsev also noted that the amount of electricity consumption varies for each consumer.
“My friends’ consumption last month was half of what it was before. The situation for some may not be the same for all consumers,” the expert explained.
The average user is without electricity for approximately 12 hours per day, so consumption volumes are decreasing accordingly.
“As for the amounts on payments, I think they will eventually be approximately the same as before the price increase,” Ryabtsev predicts.
He added that restrictions on energy supply in any case lead to “forced savings”.
Electricity tariff in Ukraine
Let us remind you that in Ukraine, as of June 1, the electricity tariff for the population has doubled to 4.32 UAH/kWh. The Ministry of Energy predicted that the average payment will increase by 285 UAH.
On June 4, Deputy Energy Minister Svetlana Grinchuk announced that funds from the tariff increase will be used for repairs and restoration of production. This will allow Ukraine to prepare for winter as much as possible.
On June 10, Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal said that this increase does not cover the market price of electricity, which is about 7-8 UAH/kWh.
