The total volume of investments in the Arctic region of Russia in 2024 exceeded 800 billion rubles. This was reported by the Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov in an exclusive interview “Izvestia“ on the sidelines of the EEF-2024.
“800 billion rubles is a lot of money, and it is important to maintain the most favorable conditions for honest business,” – the head of the supervisory agency stated.
According to him, at present one fifth of the total number of entrepreneurs who conduct business in the territories of advanced development work in the Arctic zone. They invest most actively in the Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions.
“The number of economic residents in Krasnoyarsk Krai, the Komi Republic, and Yakutia is constantly increasing,” – added Krasnov.
The Prosecutor General specified that the Arctic is one of the territories where preferential regimes for doing business are in effect. There, prosecutors are focused on preventing red tape in issuing permits, providing land plots, building the infrastructure necessary for implementing projects, and excessive administrative pressure.
