The state hopes to create a comprehensive infrastructure of charging stations for electric vehicles in Ukraine. There should be no more than 5 electric vehicles per charging point.
In 25 years, one in every two cars in Ukraine will be electric. This will require the creation of a national network of charging stations for electric vehicles. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Energy in the draft action plan for the implementation of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2050, published on the website of the Ministry of Energy.
It is stated that the first phase of the project in Ukraine is planned in 2026, and accordingly, 40 high-power charging stations (160+ kW) and 80 medium-power (60+ kW) charging stations should be put into operation on main highways and regional centers. . The preliminary estimate of the cost of the project was 1.5 billion UAH. The investor must be NNEGC Energoatom.
It is aimed to equip at least 15% of them with normal power charging stations by 2032. This figure is expected to increase to 50% by 2050.
In total, Ukraine wants to create an extensive infrastructure of charging stations for electric vehicles at a distance of no more than 60 kilometers. It is also planned to design a charging point for up to five electric vehicles.
The Ministry of Energy also believes that in the long term, “smart roads” for charging electric vehicles while driving may appear in Ukraine. The ministry expects that by 2050, one in every two cars in Ukraine will be electric.
Let us remind you that the newest 1000-horsepower Porsche electric car has sold 9 million units in Ukraine. It is equipped with a 1034 horsepower unit and is capable of accelerating to hundreds in 2.3 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 290 km/h.
