Irish mixed martial arts fighter and two-time UFC champion Conor McGregor will star in a movie as an actor for the first time. It is known that the athlete will appear in a remake of the film “Road House”.
The film will be directed by Doug Liman. The film will be released on the streaming service Amazon Prime, and the filming process will begin in August 2022 in the Dominican Republic.
The film follows a former UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer at a roadside eatery in the Florida Keys. As the bouncer rids the establishment of local villains, he acquires a new enemy – a racketeer who keeps the whole city at bay.
Jake Gyllenhaal will star in the film, according to Deadline. The cast also includes Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lucas Gage and others. Who exactly McGregor will play is still unknown. Sources of the publication said that the athlete will not appear in the role of himself. – he will have to reincarnate as the original character.
