In New York, a court hearing was held in a sexual harassment case against actor Kevin Spacey. Spacey denied all allegations.
The plaintiff, actor Anthony Rapp, said he was harassed by Spacey at the age of 14. Spacey himself was then 26. The plaintiff alleges that in 1986, after a party, Spacey picked him up, put him on the bed, and then lay down with him. According to the alleged victim, he managed to escape, and for many years he did not dare to tell about what happened. He first brought charges against Spacey in 2017. Then he said that Spacey attacked him and beat him.
“They are not true” Spacey commented on the allegations.
Rapp’s statements, along with confessions from 15 other alleged victims, derailed Kevin Spacey’s career, causing the actor to lose his role on the hit series House of Cards.
“I knew that I would have no sexual interest in Anthony Rapp or any other child. I was shocked. I was scared and confused. I was never alone with Anthony Rapp,” – said the actor.
He added that in 1986, he, Rapp, and another aspiring actor, John Barrowman, had dinner after Spacey’s performance on Broadway, then went to a nightclub, and from there to Spacey’s apartment in Manhattan. However, according to the accused actor, he sympathized with the adult Barrowman.
On June 13, Kevin Spacey was charged with sexual assault against three men in Britain. British police were able to collect evidence on four episodes of violence.
On October 22, 72-year-old Bill Murray was accused of harassment. The actor behaved inappropriately on the set of the film “Being Mortal” and molested an employee of the film crew. Because of this, work on the painting was suspended.
