Director Emir Kusturica broke his leg after falling on the ice

Serbian film director Emir Kusturica broke his leg after falling on the ice in his homeland. This was stated by TASS surrounded by the director.

It is known that due to the injury, Kusturica had to be hospitalized, he will have an operation.

“Emir Kusturica broke his leg, fell unsuccessfully on the ice in Serbia, they plan to operate on him tomorrow,” agency sources said.

They added that the director, who also serves as president of the Spirit of Fire Film Debut Festival, will have to wear a cast at the screening. XXI Festival “Spirit of Fire” in 2023 will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk from 3 to 6 March.

“At the film festival, he will work in plaster,” the sources said.

Emir Kusturica was approved as the new president of the Spirit of Fire festival last fall.

In January, Kusturica spoke about plans to make a film based on Gogol.
