Becky G is going through one of the toughest times with her family and that’s because various media outlets have reported the death of Gabriel Martinez, the uncle of the singer who went missing in Brazil.
According to information published in the magazine “People in Spanish”, Martinez was found without signs of life on March 2 after was in a spectacular accident, and it was the United States Embassy that was responsible for releasing this terrible news.
“The Embassy and Consulates of the United States are alarmed by the news of an American citizen who died in a tragic accident in Rio de Janeiro, and we thank the Brazilian authorities for their search efforts (…) Our highest priority is to serve US citizens abroad, and the embassy and consulates are ready to coordinate their actions with the family and provide all necessary assistance, ”the publication clarifies.
The singer reported Martinez’s disappearance on her social media a few days prior, and also asked her followers for help in finding her whereabouts: “Friends and family. Please share, my cousin has been missing since he went to Rio de Janeiro a week ago. Nobody knows anything about him. Your phone is off. He did not respond to emails, messages, or anything from family or work.
Gabriel Martinez traveled to the Brazilian city to attend carnival parties in Rio de Janeiro, but no further information about his death is known so far.
Meanwhile, the singer did not comment on the situation, although a few days before, she indicated that she contacted the Brazilian authorities to try to find her relative: “He is my mother’s cousin. Technically yes, it belongs to my family and I deal with legal media in Brazil. Thanks for your help,” he said.
