Best friend of cats and children: Yuri Kuklachev celebrates his 75th birthday

Today, one of the most famous artists in Russia, Yuri Kuklachev, celebrates his anniversary. The cats’ main friend is 75. Decades of years on stage have not deprived him of truly childish enthusiasm: in the preparation of each performance, he pays attention to the smallest details and passes on invaluable experience to his children.

The most famous clown in the country

He suggests how to make the act even funnier – for the sake of this he still doesn’t mind getting hit on the head with a mop. During the break, he gives advice to the artists and, of course, fools around like a clown while everyone is on stage. Yuri Kuklachev does all this with childish enthusiasm. Although today the country’s most famous cat friend and clown turns 75 years old.

“Charge the hall. We need it to live!” – says Kuklachev.

Charging the hall with clownery has been Yuri Kuklachev’s dream since childhood. But he didn’t come to her right away: he entered the circus for seven years, but they didn’t take him. He began performing at the Palace of Culture, where the long-awaited recognition came. And also an invitation to the circus school. Kuklachev gained popularity only in the 70s with his first cat named Kutya. Their act “The Cat and the Chef” became a legend.

Since then, Yuri Kuklachev has been known all over the world. The artist reveals the talents of the tailed ones not on the stage of the theater, but at home.

“Here we begin to accustom them to music, then we take them around. Moving for a cat is very stressful, such small nuances. And then they go on stage and become kings and princesses,” – the People’s Artist shared.

The main rule is not to disturb cats

For all 35 years, the Kuklachev Theater has maintained the golden rule: do not disturb the cats.

“Some people come out, and he has a problem: he did the trick, that’s it, he doesn’t want to go backstage. We can’t continue the performance. He says: “I’m communicating with the audience.” And we stop. This is the uniqueness of our theater, that we give animals the opportunity to improvise,” – said the son of Yuri Kuklachev, Vladimir.

The children of Yuri Kuklachev also adopted their love for tailed animals. Everyone has their own rumbling troupe, the cats in it are real stars. In order to surprise little spectators, at rehearsals Kuklachev’s children must impress their dad, because he is also a child at heart.

“That is, you miss it, and he: “Here you should have turned your eye, here the cat comes out – move back half a meter.” These are some little things, and who else will tell you this? Only him,” – noted the artistic director of the Kuklachev Cat Theater, the son of the artist Dmitry Kuklachev.

“Fighter of the army of goodness and mercy”

Yuri Kuklachev carries the skill of being a friend not only to cats, but also to children, throughout his entire life. The artist founded the “School of Kindness” in order to be a mentor to children and schoolchildren outside the theater walls.

– What good deed have you done today? – Kuklachev asks the child.

– I went to school, and my grandmother fell there. I helped her up – says the girl.

– Well done.

Yuri Kuklachev plans to continue to charge people with the energy of kindness and laughter. The artist does not plan to end his career.

“I am still active. I am a real fighter in the army of goodness and mercy, still in uniform. This is the truth that is given to us by the cosmos, the universe. So that we, people, continue our race kindly, through love,” – said Kuklachev.

The artist even plans to spend his 75th birthday on stage. A grandiose show for guests, in which the entire Kuklachev dynasty will perform. And for the first time in history, 100 cats will perform at once.
