Following the Moscow International Film Week held in August, the government of the Russian capital signed a number of international memorandums of cooperation. As Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalya Sergunina reported, the metropolis’ partners included representatives of the film industry from India, the UAE, Mexico and Egypt.
“In total, within the framework of the business program, the capital concluded nine cooperation agreements: four international and five domestic– Sergunina reported. – The implementation of cross-national projects will help secure Moscow’s status as one of the key centers for the development of the film industry in the world.”
According to the deputy mayor, foreign delegations that participated in the forum got acquainted with the infrastructure being created in the city, which allows for the quick organization and conduct of filming. Moscow agreed with representatives of the film business from friendly countries on cooperation in the creation of films and series both on domestic and foreign sites.
One example of successful cooperation between filmmakers from different countries is the film “The Greatest of All Time”, which a team from India worked on in Moscow in April. The film became the first foreign product, the shooting of which was organized through the Moskino film platform.
During the film week, domestic agreements were signed with the Cinema Fund, the Institute for Internet Development, the Tavrida art cluster, and the companies MTS Media and Kinopoisk.
“The agreements provide for the creation of working groups, the organization of educational seminars and trainings, the launch of acceleration programs for training personnel, as well as the holding of forums on the development of creative industries.”said the head of the capital’s Department of Culture, Alexey Fursin.
