The ethno-opera “Prince Vladimir” with SHAMAN will be shown in St. Petersburg on February 26

The ethno-opera “Prince Vladimir”, in which the main role will be played by the author and performer SHAMAN (Yaroslav Dronov), will be shown at the Ice Palace in St. Petersburg on February 26, 2025.

“The ethno-opera “Prince Vladimir” is expanding the geography of performances. On February 26 at the Ice Palace of St. Petersburg we will show a large-scale production about the events that became the starting point of a thousand years of Russian history,” – reported on the SHAMAN Telegram channel.

Also, as part of the “Song of the Year” event, SHAMAN received a diploma for the song “Beloved Woman”. The author and performer came to the ceremony in the image of Prince Vladimir from the ethno-opera, arm in arm with the singer Soya (Asiyat Saigidova), who will play the role of Rogneda.

Previously, it was only known about plans to stage the ethno-opera “Prince Vladimir” on February 5 and 6 in Moscow.

Spectators will be able to see the opera on February 5 and 6 in the Kremlin. The premiere will be timed to coincide with the anniversary of composer and producer Igor Matvienko: on February 6 he will turn 65 years old.

In addition, on October 24, it was reported that the first rehearsal in costumes of the ethno-opera “Prince Vladimir” took place in Moscow. For two years, make-up artists, stylists and costume designers developed images for each of the roles in order to completely immerse the audience in the times of the baptism of Rus’. To create the musical language of ethno-opera, folk motifs, pop hits, the sound of the Novgorod gusli and ethnic singing were taken.
